Hey Y’all! Sorry I haven’t
been on here in a few weeks, but I wanted to update you guys on what’s been
happening in the NFL these last two weeks regarding the star player Mr. Antonio
Brown. As most of us may know he is a star wide receiver who played for the
Pittsburgh Steelers where his career took off. He then went on to play for the
Oakland Raiders then was later released and was extremely happy about the
entire situation. He posted a video to his social media of hum celebrating him
being let go by the Raiders. Three hours after being released from his 30-million-dollar
contract deal he signed a 15-million-dollar deal with the New England Patriots
with a 9 million dollar signing bonus and 1-million-dollar salary.
A week ago, Brown played
his first and only game with the Patriots where he was released from the team
after he was accused of sexual assault allegations. According to a Market watch
article posted yesterday “His
contract with the Patriots included $10 million in guaranteed money. But as
sports illustrated points out, the contract stipulated that if Brown “takes any
action that materially
undermines the public’s respect for, or is materially critical of, the Club,
Player’s teammates or the club’s ownership, coaches, management, operations or
policies,” then the contract will be null and void.” (Kutz, 2019) Brown ended up receiving only $158,333 of
that deal for playing one game last Sunday. He is now attempting to go after the
Patriots to get the rest of his money from his contract which seems as if it
will not happen.
Brown took to twitter to express his anger regarding his release and made
a statement that he will no longer play in the NFL because the owners can do
what they want and cancel deals. Now that he is out of the NFL at the moment
his name is still coming across the headlines because of one of his past
trainers Britney Taylor coming out and saying he sexually assaulted her. Brown
is now known for being “toxic” and a week ago released screenshots of text messages
in a group chat with Britney as well as others threatening her and her family
and calling her a liar regarding this entire situation. Taylor came forward
with these rape allegations three days after his releasement from Oakland where
she states that he sexual assaulted her three times, twice in 2017 and once in
2018.
“F–k your knowledge bitch I bell all pro before
I even knew u!” Brown purportedly wrote. “U a disgrace to lil girls u a failed
gymnast living in the past.” (Feis, 2019) These were only a few of the texts Ms. Taylor received
when first being fired from Brown years ago. The text she recently received from
him were about her kids as well as other things being nasty towards her as well
as letting her know his lawyers are going to prove she is lying. There is so
much more behind this investigation right now and hopefully will be released
soon so I can’t wait to get back to y’all next week to share more behind this
toxic person we used to adore on the field.
