LIVE updates on the Patriots vs Ravens Game

Hey Yall! Just to keep you updated the Nationals won the World Series last week in an amazing final game. Moving on from that its now officially football season and nothing else and I couldn’t be more excited about it.  This blog was meant to post Sunday after the game but I somehow never clicked publish. So incase you missed the game here is what happened!

Week 9 of the NFL ended this past weekend with an upset no one saw coming. The undefeated reigning Super Bowl Champs fell short when the clock hit 0:00 at the end of the fourth quarter.

The Baltimore Ravens hosted the New England Patriots late Sunday night. The Ravens are now 6-2 on the season. Will their winning streak continue as they finish out the season?

The Patriots kicked off the game giving the Ravens the ball first. Big plays were made by Ingram and Brown on the opening drives. Ravens soon fell short of the first down on the 4-yard line where they were 4th and 2 when they lined up a for a field goal. Special teams lined up for a 24-yard field goal just to see a flag thrown as the ball is snapped. The Patriots received the flag causing the ball to moved making it a first and goal for the Ravens. First and Goal the QB Jackson fakes a handoff and walks into the endzone putting his team up leading 7-0 midway through the 1st quarter. The Patriots receive the ball finally and the first play they have Brady gets rid of the ball straight to the ground. Soon they fall short of the first down and punt the ball right back to the Ravens. Ravens moved the ball down where near the end of their drive they fall short on 3rd and 10. 39-yard field goal attempt took place and was successful now the Ravens lead 10-0 going into the second quarter.

Patriots O line was not holding up near the end of the first they let Brady get sacked causing them to give up the ball again. Starting the second quarter Ravens QB Jackson hands off to Ingram turning into a huge play where he ended up on the Pats 10-yard line. 7 seconds wind down hand off to Edwards walks in for the touchdown. 17-0 still early in the 2nd quarter. Brady gets the ball back and fires and almost gets picked. The Patriots soon punt the ball where it was dropped and recovered by the Patriots on their own 20-yard line. Brady finally throws his first touchdown pass of the game to their new player Sanu SR who was recently traded from the Atlanta Falcons. Pats are now on the board 17-7.

With 7:27 left before the half the pats are running the ball on 3rd and 25 when they fumble, and the Ravens recover it. After reviewing the ball was marked down at the spot of the fumble but ended up not making a difference given, they fell short of the first down. Ravens right after fumbled the ball and the Pats recovered it on their own 20-yard line. Brady drives the ball down and soon was blocked at the goal line where they ended up taking a 22-yard feel goal making the game 17-10 Ravens. The patriots get one last drive before the half where Brady drives the ball down the field pass after pass just to fall short of the goal line once again. 19-yard field goal was made with 8 seconds left making it now a 4-point game starting the half.

Third quarter starts and the Patriots have the ball first. Second play of the drive is a flea flicker to Sanu SR for a huge gain on the play. Edelman soon gets the ball and is tackled and lets the ball slip where it was recovered by a Ravens player for a touchdown, making it a 70-yard fumble return.  24 - 13 Ravens.

Midway through near the 8-minute mark the Patriots finally make their second touchdown of the night bringing the game to only a 3-point difference. 5 seconds into the fourth quarter the Ravens run it in for another touchdown making the game 30-20 because the kicker missed the extra point. As a few minutes pass Tom Brady gets the ball back and on 3rd and 10 he throws a hail miry pass in hopes Sanu Sr catches it but instead its picked at the 7-yard line and run back to the 30. The Ravens run the clock down to 3:12 remaining just for Jackson to do a quarterback sneak to lean his way into the endzone making the score 37-20. The Patriots had 3 minutes left to attempt to get the job done but fell short. The undefeated Pats finally lost. Will their losing streak continue in the coming weeks or will they forget about this game and move on fast.

World Series

Hey Yall! This week again is all about baseball, but I mean who doesn’t love a good baseball game?

Monday night game 5 of the world series took place in Washington. The Astros took a 7-1 victory making the series 3-2 Astros. The Astros came into Game 3 down 0-2 in the series, but it was as if something lit a fire underneath them to perhaps just preform the most dominant road performance in world series history. According to MLB News the Astros became the second team under the current 2-3-2 World Series format, following the Yankees against the Dodgers in 1949, to win all three of the middle games on the road without trailing. So many big things happened this last game for the Astros that the MLB news website posted 21 facts about their 3rd straight win in Washington.
The Nationals were held to only one run in each of the last three games. Did yall know that this is only the third World Series in which the road team has won each of the first five games joining the Yankees when they beat the Atlanta Braves in 1996. These last three games have been outstanding for the Astros organization by outscoring the Nationals by 16 total runs. The Nationals hit .307 while winning Games 1 and 2 but the Astros pitching line up put a nice dent in that average dropping it to .175 at the plate.
As I talked about earlier how the Astros only held Washington to 3 runs it turns out it was their fewest runs ever in a three-home game span since August 2016 said MLB News. These last games in Washington so much has happened like the 21st Birthday for Juan Soto. Where he went 0-4 at the plate. The Night of Game 5 Soto finally had his Birthday moment he had hoped for, Soto hit a solo homerun off Cole Monday night putting the Nationals on the board in the bottom of the 7th.
Now Soto isn't the only one making headlines from the World Series. Jose Altuve is the man everyone has been talking about. He also is the reason the Astros made it to the World Series when he hit a walk off homerun prior to the World Series in the Playoffs. In Game 5 Altuve singled in the third to reach base, he has now reached base safely in 25 consecutive postseason games and is now tied with Pablo Sandoval and Boog Powell. The current record now is 31 held by Miguel Cabrera do you think Altuve will beat it or tie it by the end of the series? That single hit he had in game 5 also gave him a total of 24 hits in just the month of October putting him "right at the doorstep of history" entering Game 6 says MLB reporters.

Something most people do not know about him is that when he was first signed with the Astros, he was cut because he was told he was too short and would never play or be good enough. Altuve stands at 5'5" and is quit a stick a dynamite if you ask me or any other baseball fan. Over his 1st 22 post season games Altuve is incredible with .400/.438/.800 with 10 homeruns, 24 runs and 20 RIBs. Will his luck continue in the next games?
Game 7 takes place tonight in Houston, the series is tied 3-3. Who will become the World Series champ tonight?  First pitch is at 7:30 tune in to see.

Simone Biles Most decorated gymnast in the world

Hey Y'all!
Just wanted to hop on here and let y'all know what has been going on in the gymnastics world lately. I am leaning away from football at the moment given my NFL team has not been playing so well lately, currently with a 1-7 record after week 8. The Atlanta Falcons are my team in case you were wondering. Last week they played the Los Angeles Rams in Atlanta where they lost 27 to 10. The Falcons this season have been playing poorly which is sad but at least we aren't 0-8 at the moment like a few teams left in the NFL. As of today the Atlanta Falcons organization traded Mohamed Sanu for the Second round draft pick in 2020 to the Patriots. Was this a smart move? Honestly no but all we can do is hope they made the right choice.

Now as for gymnastics goes some of you may know that I was a gymnast my entire life so gymnastics runs through my veins whether I like it or not. About two weeks ago in Stuggart, Germany from October 3 to the 13th the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship took place. Where the United States sent six gymnasts; Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Kara Eaker, Sunisa Lee, Grace McCallum, and alternate Mykayla Skinner.

The United States team took Gold over the other countries where they excelled in every aspect but the team winning Gold wasn't the highlight of the competition it was Ms. Simone Biles. Biles won gold medals in the balance beam, floor exercise, Vault, individual All- around and Team Gold. She ended up walking away from Worlds wearing herself 5 Gold Medals bringing her total count to 25 World Medals. This makes her the most decorated gymnast in world championship history. From a recent article published by The New York Times Biles stated that she couldn't be prouder of her performance during the worlds championship.

Something that shocked not only the whole world but herself was when the score to her balance beam routine popped up. Biles jumped from her seat with excitement because this event has been far more challenging then any others. In the past she has always fallen short of Gold and received Bronze but not this time, the Gold medal was finally hers. "This really is my best worlds performance I have ever put out, Biles said."  May be the most impressive? Simone now has 19 Golds out of her 25 and 5 were just earned in the past week. Biles now has a medal for every year she has been alive as well as the next 3 to come. Biles now has a handful of skills named after her that only she has competed on a world stage. Biles career is far from over and we can't wait to see what she will accomplish at the 2020 Olympic Games come August.

In other news the MLB playoffs came to an end last year where the Yankees fell short in Game 6 where it was tied 4 to 4 and Altuva hit a walk off home run to win the game for the Astros. Bringing the Astros to the World Series. The MLB World Series kicks off tonight at 8:08 pm in Houston where they will take on the Washington Nationals. Who will come out on top after tonight? Will the Astros have the same luck as they did two years ago or will they fall short this time? Who are you picking on winning the series and in how many games will it take?

Latest on the toxic Antonio Brown & MLB wild card

Hey y’all!

So last week we discussed the hot topic in the NFL Mr. Antonio Brown and how he is no longer apart of the Organization due to sexual assault allegations that led to his release. This week I wanted to give you the latest news on him as well as touch on Americas favorite past time, baseball. The MlB is in coming to an end soon so playoffs are in full swing.

Antonio as most of us have seen has been very active on social media this past week with arguing with players. His latest news to his life is filing for grievance for all the money he has lost in the last few weeks with the NFL. “Brown is the first player in NFL history poised to file nine grievances and appeals during the same time period” According to Adam Schefter of ESPN (Duncan, 2019).  AB is attempting to collect over 61 million dollars that he believes is missing from his bank.  The list of nine consists of fine appeals from the Oakland Raiders $215,000, guaranteed money from them as well for $29 million. Signing bonus with the Raiders of $1 million and a weekly salary of $860,000 from the organization. The last four come from the Patriots organization first for the guaranteed $1 million, signing bonus of $9 million, unpaid week 3 salary of $64,000 and the Patriots option year 2020 for $20 million dollars. All this money is what Brown is intending to get for him being released in the last weeks and how he was treated by these organizations. Brown can continue to sue the NFL if he wants given the NFL has not suspended him yet for the sexual allegations against him. So as of this moment he is still a free agent who says he is done playing in the NFL but will that last? DO you think a team will sign him anytime soon given all the drama he causes and how much of a toxic person he is?

Moving onto MLB news. Last night the American League Wild Card game was played by the Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee scored right away in the first inning scoring 2 runs then scoring 1 in the second where they lead the game 3-0. Washington soon gets on the board when Turner hits a 405 foot homerun to the left center. Leading into the 4th inning where both teams went scoreless until the 8th inning came around. It was as if the Nationals lite a fire under them to finish out this game, they scored 3 times to give them the lead leading into the 9th inning where they ended up clinching the win to continue there fight to get into this years world series. The brewers season is now over where they ended up 89-73 with the season and 2nd in the NL Central.

Starting Friday the National League Division series will start where the St. Louis Cardinals will take on the Atlanta Braves. The American League Series will also begin where the Minnesota Twins will take on The New York Yankees. Who Will win? Guess we will have to wait and see!
Come back next week to find out who will be playing in the Championship series. Will it be your team or the team you hates lucky year.

GO BRAVES!
-Ansley

Wednesday, September 25, 2019

Hey Y’all! Sorry I haven’t been on here in a few weeks, but I wanted to update you guys on what’s been happening in the NFL these last two weeks regarding the star player Mr. Antonio Brown. As most of us may know he is a star wide receiver who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers where his career took off. He then went on to play for the Oakland Raiders then was later released and was extremely happy about the entire situation. He posted a video to his social media of hum celebrating him being let go by the Raiders. Three hours after being released from his 30-million-dollar contract deal he signed a 15-million-dollar deal with the New England Patriots with a 9 million dollar signing bonus and 1-million-dollar salary.

A week ago, Brown played his first and only game with the Patriots where he was released from the team after he was accused of sexual assault allegations. According to a Market watch article posted yesterday “His contract with the Patriots included $10 million in guaranteed money. But as sports illustrated points out, the contract stipulated that if Brown “takes any action that materially undermines the public’s respect for, or is materially critical of, the Club, Player’s teammates or the club’s ownership, coaches, management, operations or policies,” then the contract will be null and void.(Kutz, 2019)  Brown ended up receiving only $158,333 of that deal for playing one game last Sunday. He is now attempting to go after the Patriots to get the rest of his money from his contract which seems as if it will not happen.

Brown took to twitter to express his anger regarding his release and made a statement that he will no longer play in the NFL because the owners can do what they want and cancel deals. Now that he is out of the NFL at the moment his name is still coming across the headlines because of one of his past trainers Britney Taylor coming out and saying he sexually assaulted her. Brown is now known for being “toxic” and a week ago released screenshots of text messages in a group chat with Britney as well as others threatening her and her family and calling her a liar regarding this entire situation. Taylor came forward with these rape allegations three days after his releasement from Oakland where she states that he sexual assaulted her three times, twice in 2017 and once in 2018.

“F–k your knowledge bitch I bell all pro before I even knew u!” Brown purportedly wrote. “U a disgrace to lil girls u a failed gymnast living in the past.” (Feis, 2019)  These were only a few of the texts Ms. Taylor received when first being fired from Brown years ago. The text she recently received from him were about her kids as well as other things being nasty towards her as well as letting her know his lawyers are going to prove she is lying. There is so much more behind this investigation right now and hopefully will be released soon so I can’t wait to get back to y’all next week to share more behind this toxic person we used to adore on the field.

Intro to me

Hey y 'all!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Ansley and I am a current student athlete at Fairmont State University. I grew up in the heart of the south where the sun is almost always shinning and sweat tea is consumed more than water. Could you guess which state? Well the answer is Georgia not Alabama, the words 'Roll Tide' are not in my vocabulary only 'Go Dawgs'.

I am one of the biggest football fans you will ever meet. Of course my teams are the Georgia Bulldogs as well as the Atlanta Falcons but to be honest I am more of an NFL fan more than anything. Sports have been my life for as long as I can remember, I grew up doing one of the hardest sports known to man called gymnastics. This sport taught me to be who I am today and really shaped me into me and made me realize my love for sports.

I am creating this blog to share with y'all the inside scoop on all sports. Not just focusing on one sport but on many and on the top athletes inside the professional world. I aspire to be a sidelines sports reporter in the near future and hope this will jump towards the start of my career.
