World Series

Hey Yall! This week again is all about baseball, but I mean who doesn’t love a good baseball game?

Monday night game 5 of the world series took place in Washington. The Astros took a 7-1 victory making the series 3-2 Astros. The Astros came into Game 3 down 0-2 in the series, but it was as if something lit a fire underneath them to perhaps just preform the most dominant road performance in world series history. According to MLB News the Astros became the second team under the current 2-3-2 World Series format, following the Yankees against the Dodgers in 1949, to win all three of the middle games on the road without trailing. So many big things happened this last game for the Astros that the MLB news website posted 21 facts about their 3rd straight win in Washington.
The Nationals were held to only one run in each of the last three games. Did yall know that this is only the third World Series in which the road team has won each of the first five games joining the Yankees when they beat the Atlanta Braves in 1996. These last three games have been outstanding for the Astros organization by outscoring the Nationals by 16 total runs. The Nationals hit .307 while winning Games 1 and 2 but the Astros pitching line up put a nice dent in that average dropping it to .175 at the plate.
As I talked about earlier how the Astros only held Washington to 3 runs it turns out it was their fewest runs ever in a three-home game span since August 2016 said MLB News. These last games in Washington so much has happened like the 21st Birthday for Juan Soto. Where he went 0-4 at the plate. The Night of Game 5 Soto finally had his Birthday moment he had hoped for, Soto hit a solo homerun off Cole Monday night putting the Nationals on the board in the bottom of the 7th.
Now Soto isn't the only one making headlines from the World Series. Jose Altuve is the man everyone has been talking about. He also is the reason the Astros made it to the World Series when he hit a walk off homerun prior to the World Series in the Playoffs. In Game 5 Altuve singled in the third to reach base, he has now reached base safely in 25 consecutive postseason games and is now tied with Pablo Sandoval and Boog Powell. The current record now is 31 held by Miguel Cabrera do you think Altuve will beat it or tie it by the end of the series? That single hit he had in game 5 also gave him a total of 24 hits in just the month of October putting him "right at the doorstep of history" entering Game 6 says MLB reporters.

Something most people do not know about him is that when he was first signed with the Astros, he was cut because he was told he was too short and would never play or be good enough. Altuve stands at 5'5" and is quit a stick a dynamite if you ask me or any other baseball fan. Over his 1st 22 post season games Altuve is incredible with .400/.438/.800 with 10 homeruns, 24 runs and 20 RIBs. Will his luck continue in the next games?
Game 7 takes place tonight in Houston, the series is tied 3-3. Who will become the World Series champ tonight?  First pitch is at 7:30 tune in to see.

Simone Biles Most decorated gymnast in the world

Hey Y'all!
Just wanted to hop on here and let y'all know what has been going on in the gymnastics world lately. I am leaning away from football at the moment given my NFL team has not been playing so well lately, currently with a 1-7 record after week 8. The Atlanta Falcons are my team in case you were wondering. Last week they played the Los Angeles Rams in Atlanta where they lost 27 to 10. The Falcons this season have been playing poorly which is sad but at least we aren't 0-8 at the moment like a few teams left in the NFL. As of today the Atlanta Falcons organization traded Mohamed Sanu for the Second round draft pick in 2020 to the Patriots. Was this a smart move? Honestly no but all we can do is hope they made the right choice.

Now as for gymnastics goes some of you may know that I was a gymnast my entire life so gymnastics runs through my veins whether I like it or not. About two weeks ago in Stuggart, Germany from October 3 to the 13th the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship took place. Where the United States sent six gymnasts; Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Kara Eaker, Sunisa Lee, Grace McCallum, and alternate Mykayla Skinner.

The United States team took Gold over the other countries where they excelled in every aspect but the team winning Gold wasn't the highlight of the competition it was Ms. Simone Biles. Biles won gold medals in the balance beam, floor exercise, Vault, individual All- around and Team Gold. She ended up walking away from Worlds wearing herself 5 Gold Medals bringing her total count to 25 World Medals. This makes her the most decorated gymnast in world championship history. From a recent article published by The New York Times Biles stated that she couldn't be prouder of her performance during the worlds championship.

Something that shocked not only the whole world but herself was when the score to her balance beam routine popped up. Biles jumped from her seat with excitement because this event has been far more challenging then any others. In the past she has always fallen short of Gold and received Bronze but not this time, the Gold medal was finally hers. "This really is my best worlds performance I have ever put out, Biles said."  May be the most impressive? Simone now has 19 Golds out of her 25 and 5 were just earned in the past week. Biles now has a medal for every year she has been alive as well as the next 3 to come. Biles now has a handful of skills named after her that only she has competed on a world stage. Biles career is far from over and we can't wait to see what she will accomplish at the 2020 Olympic Games come August.

In other news the MLB playoffs came to an end last year where the Yankees fell short in Game 6 where it was tied 4 to 4 and Altuva hit a walk off home run to win the game for the Astros. Bringing the Astros to the World Series. The MLB World Series kicks off tonight at 8:08 pm in Houston where they will take on the Washington Nationals. Who will come out on top after tonight? Will the Astros have the same luck as they did two years ago or will they fall short this time? Who are you picking on winning the series and in how many games will it take?

Latest on the toxic Antonio Brown & MLB wild card

Hey y’all!

So last week we discussed the hot topic in the NFL Mr. Antonio Brown and how he is no longer apart of the Organization due to sexual assault allegations that led to his release. This week I wanted to give you the latest news on him as well as touch on Americas favorite past time, baseball. The MlB is in coming to an end soon so playoffs are in full swing.

Antonio as most of us have seen has been very active on social media this past week with arguing with players. His latest news to his life is filing for grievance for all the money he has lost in the last few weeks with the NFL. “Brown is the first player in NFL history poised to file nine grievances and appeals during the same time period” According to Adam Schefter of ESPN (Duncan, 2019).  AB is attempting to collect over 61 million dollars that he believes is missing from his bank.  The list of nine consists of fine appeals from the Oakland Raiders $215,000, guaranteed money from them as well for $29 million. Signing bonus with the Raiders of $1 million and a weekly salary of $860,000 from the organization. The last four come from the Patriots organization first for the guaranteed $1 million, signing bonus of $9 million, unpaid week 3 salary of $64,000 and the Patriots option year 2020 for $20 million dollars. All this money is what Brown is intending to get for him being released in the last weeks and how he was treated by these organizations. Brown can continue to sue the NFL if he wants given the NFL has not suspended him yet for the sexual allegations against him. So as of this moment he is still a free agent who says he is done playing in the NFL but will that last? DO you think a team will sign him anytime soon given all the drama he causes and how much of a toxic person he is?

Moving onto MLB news. Last night the American League Wild Card game was played by the Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee scored right away in the first inning scoring 2 runs then scoring 1 in the second where they lead the game 3-0. Washington soon gets on the board when Turner hits a 405 foot homerun to the left center. Leading into the 4th inning where both teams went scoreless until the 8th inning came around. It was as if the Nationals lite a fire under them to finish out this game, they scored 3 times to give them the lead leading into the 9th inning where they ended up clinching the win to continue there fight to get into this years world series. The brewers season is now over where they ended up 89-73 with the season and 2nd in the NL Central.

Starting Friday the National League Division series will start where the St. Louis Cardinals will take on the Atlanta Braves. The American League Series will also begin where the Minnesota Twins will take on The New York Yankees. Who Will win? Guess we will have to wait and see!
Come back next week to find out who will be playing in the Championship series. Will it be your team or the team you hates lucky year.

GO BRAVES!
